Febs Asyagaf, a finalist on MasterChef Indonesia Season 8, is more than just a chef—she is a visionary who uses food as a vehicle for social, educational, and economic empowerment.

Her journey began with a passion for exploring diverse cooking techniques, which first led her to study journalism before pursuing a specialized culinary program in Southern France to refine her craft.

Motivated by a deep commitment to mastering Indonesian cuisine and giving back to her community, Febs discovered her calling in philanthropy. Her mission to uplift socio-economic welfare through food inspired her to spearhead a life skills initiative: building a culinary and life skills school in Sumba, East Nusa Tenggara.

As she developed the curriculum, Febs identified a deeper challenge—a widespread skills gap among high school graduates in Sumba. Many students were leaving school unprepared for the job market, partly because their teachers lacked formal training and access to professional resources.

Recognizing that a culinary school alone could not address this systemic issue, Febs expanded her vision and founded Bernilai. The foundation takes a dual approach: providing students with practical education while also equipping teachers with the training and tools they need. By strengthening teacher capacity, Bernilai ensures students develop not only technical expertise in culinary arts but also essential soft skills for higher education and future careers.

Febs believes every young person deserves the chance to reach their full potential. Through her work, she is cultivating opportunities, strengthening communities, and shaping a brighter future—one skill at a time.
