Bernilai has launched its first training programme.

In 2025, our Intensive Teacher Training Program was launched to address a critical need: equipping educators at the Early Childhood Education (PAUD/RA) and Elementary School (SD/MI) levels with the essential skills and knowledge to thrive in today’s classrooms. This program is held in RA and MI Al Azhar Azaini in Cianjur. The core objective of this program is to significantly enhance teachers’ knowledge, insights, and skills through the implementation of a specific and measurable action plan. By doing so, we aim to improve the quality of classroom learning, creating a more effective and engaging environment for students.

This program will run 3 months from July to September, providing a sustained period for learning, practice, and continuous evaluation. Through a combination of in-person training, online mentoring, and focused group discussions, our program provides comprehensive support to help teachers become more competent and confident educators.
Our training model is designed to be highly practical and responsive to the real needs of teachers. We started by assessing the specific skills and knowledge teachers wanted to develop. This crucial first step ensured that our training content was relevant and targeted to their individual and group needs, setting the stage for a truly impactful program.
The first training was held on July 8th; the initial training session focused on foundational pedagogical concepts and innovative teaching strategies identified in the needs assessment. We presented two topics titled “Understanding Child Development Theories and Their Implementation in Learning” and “Understanding the Montessori Philosophy,” as they teach early childhood and elementary students.

Teachers were guided to create concrete, specific action plans that they would implement in their own classrooms after the training. This session was designed to refresh their knowledge and spark a commitment to direct, practical application by planning a follow-up plan that will be applied in their own classrooms. Furthermore, we conduct biweekly online mentoring sessions to provide ongoing support, guidance, and feedback on the teachers’ action plans. These sessions allowed teachers to ask questions, share their experiences, and discuss challenges they faced, ensuring continuity and motivation. On the mentoring session, teachers were invited to present a progress report on their action plans, sharing their successes and lessons learned.

After we held an online mentoring, we heard several challenges from the teacher in our needs assessment for the second training. And on the 1st of September, we presented three different topics, which are 1) Understanding Behavior Modification with an Empathic Approach, 2) Understanding Child Temperament Types and How to Handle Them, and 3) How to Deliver Sex Education to Children, a direct response to the teachers’ current challenges regarding maladaptive behaviors related to children’s private body parts.

“I feel enlightened after being confused for so long with the cases at school. Now it feels like I have a clearer direction on what to do,” said Ms. Vira right after joining our training session.
By taking a comprehensive, hands-on approach, our program provided teachers with the tools and confidence to create more effective and engaging learning environments. The blend of theoretical knowledge and practical application, supported by continuous mentoring, has empowered educators to become lifelong learners and leaders in their own classrooms.
